I have Type 1 diabetes. I love to write. I’m happy when I am helping others. I speak up when it’s important. I have a passion for sharing knowledge and learning new technology. I was BORN to BLOG!
I’ve met so many other T1Ds on this journey who are cool and love to help others. We put our heads and hearts together … to bring more resources and knowledge to our amazing diabetes community. We’re making improvements every day … come back often, let us know what you think. And my gratitude for my amazing webmaster, Dave (an honorary T1D)!
And thank you for stopping by!

Diabetes Blog Week (My Tip): SMILE~ LAUGH~ GIGGLE
The topic is Tips and Tricks, everything from how I organize for travel to how I keep track of medications to what I do that is “unconventional.” I SMILE. A lot. And often. As often as possible, I LAUGH or GIGGLE. This is NOT a cop-out. I really SMILE or LAUGH or...

Diabetes Blog Week: My Healthcare FANTASY Wish List
This topic is just so HUGE and so charged with emotion and frustration. Of course, if I could wave my magic wand, I’d say: Make all my medical problems (including needing to wear eyeglasses) away so that I never need doctors, hospitals, insurance or drugs. There, I...

DBlogWeek: PwD or Diabetic … OR T1Diabetic?
I’ll put it out there up front: I really just don’t care. I am not offended or feel labeled by being called a “diabetic.” PWD is a short-hand way but most people not as involved in the DOC don’t know what that means. And so have to say “person with diabetes” just...

Diabetes Blog Week, Message Monday: Why I Blog?
This is a great question and I've been wondering what motivates all of us to share in the ways that we do share. Some pass along tech and research news (one of my favorites), some like to talk about life's ups and downs with D, some like to poke fun at life with D,...
From Moira McCarthy: Old School Diabetes Tips You Need to Know
by Moira McCarthy | May 10, 2016 Here’s a secret: Things break. Wifi stops working. Tubing and pods mess up. I hate seeing folks in a crisis because of any of those things. After all, it wasn’t that long ago I was lumbering across the prairie in a covered wagon with...

A Week of D (and Life) Frustrations and Angst
Let me start by saying that I do live in gratitude and smiles and humor. It just feels better. I am lucky and appreciative for my life, my loving friends and family, a good education, 2 hilariously happy doggies, a beautiful home, gorgeous weather, the sun rises...
