DIY closed loops come in a few types and many branches. One popular but not-master branch is FreeAPS, developed by Ivan Valkou (in Russia) with Kirill Chekanov (in Ukraine). It’s a bit more comprehensive than the AB (Automatic Bolus) branch with more customization options. Ivan and Kirill chatted with us via Zoom on a Saturday morning in California (and after dinner in Russia). We even got a glimpse into the medical system there and how doctors view D tech and DIY looping.
