This is the best Snap news I’ve had in the past two weeks, since Asante Solutions closed their doors. While this doesn’t solve our short-term problem of choosing a new (and less technologically capable) insulin pump, it does my heart good to know that all the hard work in the creation of the Snap pump will not be lost.
And because the Snap pump was already approved by the FDA, this will speed up the process for Bigfoot to bring us an FDA-approved artificial pancreas. Bigfoot is aiming for trial by the end of 2016, only 18 months away!
Of course, my hopes are that Bigfoot will come to us Snappers for trials, as we already know and love the Snap pump. Stay tuned on that one!
