The twiist™ AID System is designed for individuals with type 1 diabetes ages six and older. It automates insulin delivery based on real-time continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data, predicted glucose trends, and user-defined parameters. The system is designed to support flexible, personalized therapy with simplified settings that accommodate a range of individual lifestyles and multiple wear options for added discretion and comfort. The twiist AID System allows for full iPhone control and supports bolus delivery from Apple Watch.

At the core of the system is twiist Loop, an adaptive algorithm derived from the original open-source Loop platform created by and for people living with diabetes. twiist Loop adjusts basal insulin delivery in real time based on CGM data, predicted glucose values, and individualized targets. The algorithm offers a high degree of customization, including the ability to set a broad glucose correction range (87–180 mg/dL) and modify meal entries retroactively.

The system incorporates iiSure™ Technology, which directly measures the volume of each insulin microdose as it is delivered. This real-time verification enables earlier detection and alert of insulin delivery issues, including occlusions.

Learn more about the differences between DIY Loop and twiist, as well as how our panelists prepared for their twiist experience, their likes, dislikes (if any), and any surprises. You will have plenty of time to ask your questions. This session will be recorded.

Medicare is Changing Access to Diabetes Tech Webinar by DPACI Dialogues, Diabetespac.org, 26 September 2025.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has proposed shifting diabetes technology like insulin pumps and CGMs to a rental model — which, among other things, means PWD would be required to return their devices before receiving new ones — AND reducing access points for pumps and CGMs nationwide. DPAC hosted experts from the policy and medical fields to discuss the potential impacts of this proposal and how to navigate them.  Join

        • John Anderson, MD/DLC Board Member/Medical Advisor
        • Bruce Taylor, DPAC Board Vice Chair

hackdiabetes25 An insider’s view of brainstorming and inspiration in the diabetes open-source developer community, with The Nightscout Foundation and DiabetesMine #DData, November 2025 (see dates below).

Calling all developers interested in enhancing open-source DIY diabetes technology! It is our pleasure to invite you to join us at hackdiabetes25!

This year, the Nightscout Foundation has partnered with DiabetesMine DData to offer 2 sessions. First, the group will hold a virtual session on November 7 to learn and brainstorm. Then, we will come together in Vancouver, BC, on November 15-16 to put that development into practice at the in-person hackathon.

If you are interested in attending either session or both, please fill out this interest form: https://lnkd.in/gyXMn3eC

If you aren’t a developer, but still want to support the hackathon, anything you give will help cover the event and developer expenses. Support our efforts with a donation here: https://lnkd.in/gTUqn93T
