OH MY … please meet Callie, T1D, real estate agent and D advocate who does a lot of volunteer work in the diabetes community … was even a part of Tour de Cure New England (team name: Team DiaBeat-it).  And most interesting and fun … Callie lives with some amazing pets, all of whom talk A LOT!  Every photo is more precious than the next!!!

All my pets are precious with specific personalities!

Two dogs (Birdie, my setter, passed on 3 weeks ago – I’m so sad): Izzie, (my rescue terrier) and (Wilson, my older man, small poodle).

I have three African Greys, including Baby and Minot, all of which talk incredibly with great vocabulary.  (** The African grey parrot’s ability to talk and mimic sounds makes this medium-sized parrot a captivating companion. African grey owners often report that their greys oftentimes talk in context and seem very attuned to their people’s emotions. The African grey parrot is not just a top talker — this bird is also known for its extreme intelligence, which gives them the moniker “The Einsteins of the Bird World.”)  Jester, my Illiger Macaw, loves to play and say, “I’ll be right back.”  My feathered friends imitate everything from gulping my coffee to saying “Good Mornin.”   When I’m on Zoom calls, they want to be with me!  They mimic me all day … I have to be careful as they can say diabetes, blood sugar, are you ok, plus other worlds that I can’t repeat … and they all can do my laugh.

I also have two older cats:  a talking siamese named Simon who’s like a little monkey that jumps, plus my black and white beauty … they are my comfort of joy.
