Dr. Roman Hovorka is Professor of Metabolic Technology at the Institute of Metabolic Science and Department of Paediatrics at Cambridge University in the UK. He has made seminal contributions to diabetes technology including the “Artificial Pancreas”.
He is a mathematician and physiological modeller and is recognized to be among the world leaders in the development of the artificial pancreas. His work spearheaded the medical and social acceptance of the artificial pancreas as a novel treatment paradigm and his studies were the first to evaluate the artificial pancreas during free living conditions in adults and youth.
I heard hi speak at a diabetes even a few years back. It was a treat I know.
